Wallet Integration

This guide explains how wallets are integrated into the Bettors platform, supported wallet providers, and how your funds are handled.

Supported Wallets

Bettors supports all major Solana wallet providers, including:

• Phantom

• Solflare

• Backpack

• Glow

• Other Solana-compatible wallets that implement the Wallet Adapter standard

Connecting Your Wallet

To connect your wallet to the Bettors platform:

1. Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top-right corner of the page

2. Select your wallet provider from the popup menu

3. Approve the connection request in your wallet extension

4. Once connected, your wallet address will be displayed in the header

Your connection will persist between sessions unless you manually disconnect.

Viewing Your Balance

Once connected, you can view your SOL balance in the header:

• The balance is displayed in SOL by default

• Click on your balance to toggle between SOL and USD display

• Balance is automatically refreshed every 30 seconds

Transaction Security

When you place a bet, the platform will:

1. Create a transaction to transfer your bet amount to the betting pool

2. Present the transaction details for your approval in your wallet

3. Only proceed with the bet after your explicit approval

You maintain full control of your funds at all times. Bettors never has custody of your SOL except for the amounts you explicitly approve for specific bets.

Transaction Structure

When you place a bet, your transaction consists of two parts:

1. Pool Transfer (99%): The majority of your bet amount goes to the betting pool

2. Platform Fee (1%): A small fee goes to the platform maintenance wallet

Both transfers are included in the same transaction for transparency and efficiency.

Disconnecting Your Wallet

To disconnect your wallet:

1. Click on your connected wallet button in the header

2. Select "Disconnect" from the dropdown menu

Troubleshooting Wallet Issues

If you encounter issues with your wallet connection:

1. Connection Issues:

   • Refresh the page

   • Make sure your wallet extension is up-to-date

   • Disconnect and reconnect your wallet

2. Transaction Failures:

   • Ensure you have sufficient SOL for the bet amount plus transaction fees

   • Check that your wallet is unlocked

   • Verify you're on the correct network (Mainnet Beta)

3. Balance Not Showing:

   • Refresh the page

   • Disconnect and reconnect your wallet

   • Make sure your wallet has the latest transactions synced

Security Best Practices

To keep your funds safe while using Bettors:

1. Always verify transaction details before approving

2. Never approve transactions requesting unusual permissions

3. Use a hardware wallet for added security when betting large amounts

4. Disconnect your wallet when you're not actively using the platform
